A first for everything

Well there are many things that we have not done in life and there will always be a first of it yes? Of course there are the good things and the bad stuff that we're encouraged not to do as it isnt good for us. Say.. taking drugs. Thats a big no. Say smoking... many friends of mine have tried it but decided not to continue due to it wasting your money and health away. No offence to smokers as im a neutral party.. i still hang out with friends i know who smoke while they're smoking.

Anyway its my first time uploading a video of myself on youtube. I decided to do some pistols for the fun of it and took a video down. Guess im bored huh. Here's the video.

Not too shabby looking pistols huh? Im gonna upload more videos of other stuff the next time i guess.

till then

The beacon in the pitch black darkness

The iron never lies to you. You can walk outside and listen to all kinds of talk. Get told you're a god or a total bastard. The iron will always kick you the real deal. The iron is the great reference point , the all knowing perspective giver. Always there like a beacon in the pitch black. I have found the iron to be my greatest friend. It never freaks out on me, never runs. Friends may come and go. But two hundred pounds is always two hundred pounds.

Saying that im gonna hit the gym hard and not slack off again. Im going to make sure that i will achieve something more, something greater in every single work out. Be it more weight, more intensity, more reps, or just more effort even on those off form days.

I have not been to california fitness for a long time. Gonna start going there when i do have the time or not i've wasted afew months of membership there already. You may ask why i signed up for a membership there... just one reason. Bigger dumbbells. Of course i must admit the enviroment there is way better than the usual gyms. Theres a whole array of different equipments there you will never find in the clubfit gyms. Of course there are alot of nice babes there compared to the neighbourhood gyms. Then again thats a wrong reason to join the gym if you are serious like me.

New year.. new beginnings..

So...another year just went by and the new year is here to many fresh new things. The previous couple of weeks were really a "holiday" mood for me as i was clubbing so damn often and slacking on gym. Im so gonna cut down my alcohol intake and late nights out for now only leaving all these for occasions or just a once in awhile kinda thing and continue to focus on my training. And what is my goal for now..? Its to do a weighted pull up with an additional load of 60kg? Ultimately of course i would love to do that with 90Kgs attached to me. Im at a bodyweight of 80+kg at the moment and my best is 10 pull ups with an additional load of 11 kgs on me. For a 1 rep max probably i'd be able to do it with 40kgs on me. For a long period of time.. about 3 months or so my training has been affected by a wrist injury. How did i get that you wonder. I got this from falling down the stairs on a dispatch trip.. how unfortunate. AND this affected my training... drastically. From doing 100s of reps of weighted pull ups with 11kgs on me a day to now just casually doing 7 reps or so of weighted pull ups with 11kgs attached for 3 sets spread throughout the day. Of course as i have preached to alot of people before that one shouldnt do a set of pull ups which is near or to the max of what one can do as this is bad for progress and i can gladly say i am following what im preaching. Those 7 reps are easy. Pretty easy. I'd be slowly going up to 8 ...9.. and then 10.. reps soon i guess.

Right now.. my left wrist is much better..but not a 100% still as im going for an MRI and check on it on Feb. I hope everything clears up by then. When that happens i'd be starting to train on muscle ups, heavier weighted pull ups and slowly work my way to a 1 arm pull up and 2 X bodyweight pull up. You rarely see someone of weight 80kgs doing all these now and what more someone with decent leg size doing those.

Anyway..after all my visits to the clubs i think that i can say the younger crowd of people espeically in phuture those "botaks" aka new recruits in the NS life are sometimes kinda like those trouble-makers you see around. Maybe its the alcohol ..maybe its just them .. that they are in the clubs trying to pick a fight when its a place whereby one just let your hair down and chill .. relax and enjoy the company of friends.. music.. alcohol.. getting to know new people.. etc.

What made me decide to write all these? well when i was at phuture the other time, there was this drunk guy who bumped into my friend and he happened to stumble back and hit onto this other fellow who then reacted violently and pushed my friend away and shouted "Bring it on!" . I turned around and was like "WTF is wrong with you kinda look" at him. His friends then started to calm him down and fortunately for him, he did calm down. Wouldnt wanna hurt anybody then.

You'll get to meet lots of people in these night spots.. and of course in army as well. ALL kinds i tell ya. Some good ..some bad. Well its up to you who you wanna mix with and im glad i found those whom i like hanging out with and got to know these people.

Clubbing and more clubbing..

Thats how my week was like...drinking and getting the feeling of being high and dancing to some loud music and talking trash with friends. Clubbing though isnt healthy if done too often its still a way to de-stress and a good way also to socialise and get to know new people(girls) for our case. Dbl O really good place for drinks...dirt cheap... compare this to zouk.. a 3 dollar shot of tequila to one in zouk which costs 11 bucks.. for a single gulp and it will definitely take a huge toll on my wallet to get myself high on 11 dollar shots. Too bad im not much of a cam whore... hence the lack of pictures. Maybe ...i'll get kason or edwin to send some photos they took to me and it'll be a more colourful domain. ok im gonna crash for now

Friday nights

Chilled out with kason, edwin, BX and ZEN lol.. on friday at this bar called "The Chamber" located around the area of Mohd sultan road where the dbl o is located at. It was my first time there and i must say its a pretty nice place to chill at. Met this lady, Karen whos offering some challenge using dices or poker cards in order to win a bottle of Gin, Chivas, vodka or whatever worth $150 at the store. So being ballsy as i know my ass is covered in terms of monetary issues wise we'd decided to ask karen to a pool challenge instead and of course it was me who took the challge and what do you know i got lucky and won. Mind you this isnt the normal pool game of 8 or 9 balls.. but i had to pot the 8 ball in the same pocket that my last ball is pocketed in. AND.. guess what? that rule only applies to me! Then again victory was ours and we chilled with a free bottle of vodka with this nice lady, Karen chatting with us.

After which we were like strolling around all high on alcohol and chatting up girls for the fun of it. Then we went to have roti prata and thats the end of the day.

Saturday... so wanted to watch "Twilight" but didnt have the opportunity to... chilled at starbucks with the group. And guess what? BX happen to meet Vivian and was all crazy about it. lol.. fucken stalker. haha

Jesse Marunde

Jesse Marunde. That name will ring a bell in any strength enthusiast like myself. WSM competitor who had a very very promising career whom unfortunately passed away due to a cardiac arrest.

Here's a video of him doing the 20 rep squats.

Thats really intense huh? definitely hardcore. You will never know how tough squatting is until you really do it. 99% of the people dont know just how easy their workouts are as they arent pushing themselves hard enough.

Anyway, this is my 3rd and last week of my Smolov base mesocycle. Its a really tough workout i must say. The best workouts i've had. My joints are aching. But of course im persevering through this and im gonna conquer it!
